In the digital world, I wanted a place to share my quilting and to provide instruction for other quilters, particularly newer quilters. As a quilter and retired sociologist, I am passionate about exploring the art of quilting and fostering public discourse. I believe that sharing what we learn is its own source of joy.
I also believe that democracy relies on free and honest speech about our beliefs and needs. I do not condone censorship even when the speaker is saying what I consider vile, unhealthy, rude, or inhumane. My exception rule is "Is this the equivalent of yelling fire in a crowded theater?" If the answer is yes, then I believe that speech creates more harm than is allowable.
